Anne VERHEŸDEN

Architect – Project Leader

Born and raised in Northern California, Anne studied landscape, sculpture and poetry as an undergraduate. After spending a year as an Urban Fellow in NYC, she returned to Yale University for her Master’s. There she continued her interdisciplinary interests by creating a collaborative seminar hosted by the schools or Art, Architecture and Forestry, directed by her mentor Diana Balmori.

Arriving in Paris, she worked first for Bernard Desmoulins, before collaborating with Jean Tribel and Olivier Chaslin. During this time, she studied Architectural Theory and Philosophy at La Sorbonne. The research she began there on in situ works later coalesced in a memoire on sustainable building skins and a project guided by Sonia Cortes for an award-winning timber school in the Val-d’oise region.

Anne joined ArtBuild in 2017 developing façades for the city of Nantes new health campus. Her expertise lies in timber construction, façade technology and bioclimatic design.
