Ivan FRANCK

Architect – Project Leader

Ivan studied as an engineer-architect at the VUB in Brussels and as a welder at the Ecole des Arts et Métiers. He subsequently completed a post-graduate degree in real estate at the Solvay Business School with an award-winning design for the Delhaize site in Brussels.

He has been with the ArtBuild team since 2017, working on office buildings, retail projects and residential buildings, between 1,000 and 25,000m².in gross floor area.

His expertise lies mainly in the capacity to generate enthusiasm amongst the various members of both design and construction teams, and to come up with creative solutions for any number of complex matters linked to studies, planning permits and the construction of mid- to large-scale projects.

Guided by sustainability, social issues, and the increased impact of cities in the future, Ivan has developed an interest and field of research in the reuse of materials, the design of flexible spaces and the urgent need to reconnect urbanites with nature. He mixes these interests with a personal passion for permaculture, woodcrafts, and design of off-grid habitats.

Ivan has been a key player on a number of projects including office schemes in Brussels (Belliard9, Loi66) and Strasbourg (Osmose), housing projects (Halarke), and a pediatric intensive unit for the UZ hospital.
