A building dedicated to university teaching and research
The site’s main characteristic is undoubtedly its triangular shape, with the hypotenuse bordering the roadway, while the two shorter sides face the Nimy Plain university campus.
This configuration led to the development of a triangular base plinth housing the teaching functions, designed to accommodate a large number of occupants.
Its volume does not exceed ground floor plus one level (G+1), and is topped by a second, square-shaped volume rising four storeys. This upper volume accommodates the research activities.
The building entrance is accessed via the forecourt, which ensures a direct connection with the campus. An intensively planted garden occupies the triangular terraces covering the first floor.
The red brick used for the façades, widely predominant in the surrounding neighborhood, was chosen to harmonize with the existing buildings.
The selected materials strike a balance between robustness, thermal performance, and environmental responsibility; they are certified and carry environmental labels.

Resilient and versatile
The building offers a wide range of possibilities for adaptation to future developments and functional changes.
The façades are structured around a constant 135 cm module, sufficiently flexible in terms of partitioning possibilities to accommodate heterogeneous programs. For this reason, the large glazed openings are uniform.
The overall architectural composition is deliberately simple, homogeneous, and balanced, with practical functionality designed to provide maximum comfort for its users.
